Film4 Frightfest in London

Heavy rain in London couldn't keep the crowds away as Hollywood Heroes swooped into the capital to help Film4 celebrate their annual Frightfest.

The festival, now in its 13th year attracts thousands of genre fans to the heart of London's West End and the Empire Cinema, for five packed days of premieres, previews, personal appearances and signings.

Aided and abetted by the Galactic Knights we helped keep the crowds entertained, posing for hundreds of photographs.

Old video...found!!

I was looking back over old photos and found some video footage I had taken at last years Winter Memorabilia show at the NEC Birmingham.

So I've quickly edited it together with my son's favourite song at the moment and here is the result. I hope you all enjoy it!

Liscard Primary School Summer Fair

Lovely sunny weather greeted the Heroes when they arrived at Liscard Primary School in Merseyside.

Entertaining (and sometimes terrifying) the children were Col as a Doctor Who Scarecrow, Phill as a Snowtrooper and Sharron as Padme. Joining them for her debut was Col's daughter as the incredible Hit Girl from the Kick Ass movie.

The event was a huge success for the school. Many thanks to Eric and Adrian for helping to crew.

Charity Football Matches

HH helped entertain the crowds at two recent charity football matches.

More than 5,000 people watched Mark Crossley's Forest Legends go head-to-head with a Soap Stars XI at The City Ground on Sunday. The Legends dominated the match and ran out 7-0 winners on the day.

Teddy Sheringham and Bryan Roy spearheaded the Legends attack as they proved too hot to handle for the Soap Stars.

All the proceeds from the day which include ticket sales, raffles at half time and a bucket collection will be split between the three charities The Lymphoma Association,Once Upon a Smile and the clubs nominated charityBeaumond House Community Hospice.

The 7th annual Jamie Walker charity match at Chesterfield FC helped to raise funds for the Lymphoma Association.

Guest stars playing included stars from TV soaps like the Moon brothers from Eastenders and actors from Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Waterloo Road. Once again youth won out over experience and the Soapstars beat the ex Chesterfield players 6-1.

Sci Fi at the Movies - Closing Weekend

We were back at Steam in Swindon this month to close the hugely succesful Sci Fi at the Movies exhibition.

John Chapman and Rusty Goffe were on hand to sign autographs and we were once again joined by characters from other clubs to put on a fitting finale to a great run in Swindon.

It's nice to know that other costuming clubs are there to participate and make an event bigger and better and also to get to know other like minded individuals who share a common interest... it also makes the post event social a lot more fun!!

Star of the show was the light sabre battle. An amazing 650 adults, children and costumers battling it out in the arena!

Llandudno Extravaganza

The Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza might seem like a strange place to find Star Wars characters but you will find them there!

Packed full of Steam Engines and Victorian Musical Organs, Vintage Cars and Costumes, Curiosities & Sideshows the centrepiece of the weekend is the parade throughout town.

Freeze!
It's full of Marching Bands, Victorian Costume walkers, Steam engines and vintage vehicles, Britain’s best Town Criers, stilt walkers, street entertainers and... Star Wars characters!

Is that why they are called" tree huggers"?
A select (and very geographically suited) team of HH members put on a great performance throughout the parade and even managed to find time to enjoy the carnival themselves!

Wheee!
